"a great film that is by no means what i would class as a trekky movie. It is action packed throughout and with a touch of CGI it really does keep your imagination gagging for more"

what we think

You would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesnt know who James T Kirk is but this re-birth gives new light to an historical character and indeed a great story. The film reaches out to a new audience with its big budget effects yet remains true to the original characters. We see the relationship between Kirk and Spock unfold and their are plenty of classic lines chucked in with a hint of humour. The film for me is more about how the relationship between the crew of the starship enterprise come together than a great big battle against evil.

The story leaves a huge hole for a follow up to show its face in the near future which im in no doubt over. Simon Pegg delivers a great Scotty performance and a starring role for leonard nimoy completes the bill for JJ Abrams' blockbuster movie which breathes new life into this franchise and is certain to attract new followers so whether you were an original series Star Trek fan, any of those spin offs, or even none of the above, go see it. You'll have a great time.
